Our Mission
Sacred music from around the world + a vision of the sacredness of the earth and all of its inhabitants = alliances for social and environmental action

Voices in Solidarity is founded on a deep faith in the power of music to transcend differences and bring about positive change.  It has two major goals, both related to building bridges. 

The first aim is to support grassroots social and environmental projects worldwide, focusing on those initiated by and for indigenous cultures

The second is to bring together innovative international musicians to create sounds that cross cultural, political and social boundaries.  The organization promotes artists sharing this vision and makes original music that blurs the distinction between traditional and modern, highlighting traditions of sacred sound (mantra, medicine melody, chant) from around the world. 

Voices in Solidarity work prioritizes:

• legal recognition of indigenous ancestral land
• the development of local economic projects
• community education and organization
• resistance to destructive practices such as logging and petroleum extraction

Funds raised through the sale of CDs goes toward direct grants to such projects as well as research that connects indigenous movements to supporting organizations in North America and Europe.
